A Bit About Me

What qualifies me to proofread your manuscript?

I have a strong background in Engineering, and in that field, details are everything. There's no room for misunderstandings or confusion, mistakes or omissions. It should be the same with your book, regardless of genre.

As a proofreader, a huge part of my job is in the title: reader. When someone reads your work- be it a novel, an essay or anything else- all the various components of the text should mesh together seamlessly, each piece doing its part to create a smooth-running machine to transport the reader. My role is to inspect the machinery, oil the gears, ensure all the nuts and bolts are tight

- and if they aren't, it's my job to fix what I can and highlight to you the bits that I can't.

As well as a career in Engineering, I also spent four years as a freelance writer, writing features and technical articles. I've also completed the Publishing Training Centre's proofreading course, widely recognised in the Publishing industry.

And finally, I read. A lot! I enjoy a wide variety of genres and authors, and I'm pretty quick at tuning in to their own unique flow. By doing this, it's relatively easy for me to spot any glitches in their work- you'd be surprised at the amount of typos and plot mistakes I've uncovered over the years, even in best-sellers published by the big publishers!

You've invested a great deal of time and energy in your manuscript-

doesn't it make sense to invest in the quality of your work?
